Membership

We have approximately 120 members, current subscription being £20 per individual.

Membership is not available to those under 18 years of age. Members are fully covered by our public liability insurance policy. This insurance also covers potential new members (ie you must never have been a member of Spartan Red Sox before) for 2 guest walks only and then if you wish to continue to walk with us you must become a member and pay the annual subscription to the Treasurer. Upon receipt of the subscription your email will be added to our mailing list so that you will receive regular updates on arrangements for walks.

Spartan Red Sox Walking Club is a member of the Ulster Federation of Rambling Clubs.

Whilst we make every effort to ensure safety, each person takes part entirely at their own risk. Neither the Club nor its members can be held responsible for loss, injury or damage, howsoever sustained. Each individual MUST come properly equipped for outdoor activity. Walking boots are ESSENTIAL. Clothing needs to be warm and water and windproof. Bring a rucksack, packed lunch, hot drink and water on all walks and you should also carry your own simple first-aid kit.

It is also STRONGLY ADVISED that members should have an In Case Emergency (ICE) number on their mobile and/or ICE details in their rucksack.

PLEASE do not bring a dog as we often walk in sheep and cattle country and wish to maintain good relations with the farming community.

You must not turn up for a walk unless you have pre-booked with the Walk Leader who will send instructions via email a few days before the scheduled walk.

If you are feeling unwell especially with Covid-like symptoms then please do not turn up for a walk/social
event.
