Walk Leader

Each person participates in club activities entirely at their own risk.

Neither the Club, nor any of its members, can be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury, howsoever caused. If you have a medical condition that may affect the walk, please tell the Walk Leader before starting.

Members should strive to maximise their mountain and navigation skills to enable them to take responsibility for themselves in the hills. Navigation and mountain skill courses are available at various times throughout the year and the Club may subsidise the cost for any member who wishes to avail of such courses.  Subsidised first-aid courses may also be organised by the Club from time to time.  Any information regarding such courses will be e-mailed to all Club Members once courses become available.

Essentials: - without these the Walk Leader may not allow you to join the walk - walking boots, waterproof coat and leggings, adequate clothing, hats and gloves, sufficient food and (hot) drinks. Simple first-aid kit.

Desirable:- torch, extra battery, whistle, bivvy Bag, 1:25,000 map, compass, emergency rations, change of clothes in car.

It is also Strongly Advised that members should have an ICE (In Case Emergency) number on their mobile and/or ICE details in their rucksack.

You must not turn up for a walk unless you have pre-booked with the Walk Leader.

If you are feeling unwell especially with Covid-like symptoms then please do not turn up for a walk/social event.

Membership Fees are due yearly by the end of November If you are not paid-up, you are not insured to walk with the Club (apart from guest walks).

Membership Cards will then be given out once available from the UFRC.
